Have you tried NTFS DOS? It's the link Tedob 1 was reffering to.

I use extensively on my clients NT and XP machines. The NTLDR is the NT boot loader. It needs to be repaired. You can use the NT resource kit to fix it or access the drive with NTFS DOS to recover the files as long as the EFS (encrypting file system) has not been deployed. If it has. File recovery is useless, they'll be recovered but just come out as garbage files.
