well there is always the possibility he was leaning way forwards and hit sand or something which caused the wheels to slip and him to fall over...or a large bump/something that would slow it down(going quickly, hence leaning far forwards, and hitting a sharp incline, possibly the driveway mentioned)

I understand they were on loan to the PD, but I sure hope they aren't actually thinking about buying these things. $9,000 would buy a few decent mountain bikes or train a K-9, buy ballistic vests, radios, ammo, etc. That's a whoop of money to spend on a novelty item, just to be the "first" to use it.

All that I'm going to say is that once I begin working as a police officer, there is no *****ing way I'll be riding one of those....
(good thing those things don't work in snow or large potholes....)

sorry... but i get the feeling that this is jsut a big hype.... its really not that cool or new of an idea..... i find it kinda.... embarassing that people are going crazy about these things....
