Get over it. Thats like bitching that AOL sucks. Everyone knows it. They are still making crazy money. If you don't like what they are doing, switch to a different company. You posted 2 other DSL companys....use one of them. Don't bitch to me that you don't want to spend and extra $8/gig just so you can download more porn. If you are going over 5 Gig in a month, then either you are running a server in your house (and I bet you are not paying for a commercial connection) or you are spending to much time on Kazaa lite (and I would bet money that you are dl'ing illegaly pirated software/movies/etc). So either buy a commercial connection like you should, stop bitching that you can't break the law as much, or get over it and move on.

Bell did the same with their "unlimited" long distance.....
Started off with unlimited nights and weekends, then switched it to 800 minutes, due do huge loss of money.....
Only problem, there is NO way you can check your monthly usage...... *****in' ***holes....

lol souleman, I have to agree with you on that one but Sympatico still sucks ;)
-
I don't agree with you Souleman. My ISP *i am lucky* provides unlimited upload and download bandwidth (speeds capped at 3mbits). Thats how it should be. If someone pays for a service, they get unlimited use of it.
Whats next? Are they gonna start charging us extra money for watching more than 3 hours of Cable TV a day and charge us $5 for every extra 10 hours we watch it? No one should cap how much someone can use their service unless clearly defined in the contract at the beginning. Now that they aren't making as much money, they want to force people into their new rules. Its not right.

I pay for my phone... don't get unlimited use of it though...
-
Gee negative, thats what I was going to say.
loony 1> I would be willing to bet that if he read his contract, it would include something saying that the TOS could be changed at any time. It may have even been specific enough to say that a bandwiidth limitation could be imposed if necessary. If it doesn't, then don't leave sympatico, sue the **** out of them...
AOL raised their prices awhile back. Did people bitch, or just leave? I used to have an Earthlink account. They changed it from 1 account to 7, and raised the price $5. I didn't bitch, I just changed to a different ISP.

Negative has it, people - the simple fact is that, with as many people on the internet now as there are, unlimited bandwidth for freakin' free is a thing of the past. My cousin moves a Gigabyte a day in bootleg movies - is it fair to everyone else on the connection that just wants to check their e-mail that he's using the whole thing?

I agree that sympatico high speed sucks. Thats what I'm using now and my internet is still slow. Because of people who abuse the bandwidth and hog everything using Kazaa. Sure I use Kazaa every now and then but I don't abuse my bandwidth. With high speed you are supposed get like 1mps or more but I only get like 10-12kps on bad days and I've maxed out at 200kps (once or twice only). If I had a choice I'd go cable but I don't right now so I'll just suffer. And if sympatico does limit our bandwidth then I'll be happy cause then maybe I'll actually get highspeed internet.
