Suicide isn't a great solution for anything, even if you are in great pain there are many things that you may be able to do to help ease the pain... laughter and having a good time is a great way to feel good so is excercise.Quote:

a great text file that you can check out if your feeling bad is

although not the best ways...it's got a few good things
That's also true in the Buddhist religion, if i remember right you go to hell if you commit suicide... although it's an exception if you are suffering. hmm..i need to look up on that.Quote:

A suicide will end your pains but it will cause pain to your relatives and close ones... Causing pain is not a good thing.. So I'm against suicide where you put a bullet in your head or jump from a building, but I will accept an assisted suicide in cases the victim is a "vegetable" held "alive" only by a machine. Also in the Winter War movie a soldier is being very badly hurt in the forest in the midnight and his fellows ran away, so he shoots himself... I think that's acceptable too...
There is a difference between cessation of medical treatment to prolong just for the sake of it, and actively using drugs or some other means to end one's life. I think that the decision concerning when a person's life should end should be left in God's hands.

Curious, would that make you a certified DNR? I myself am not, I treasure my life highly, and wish to live longer than god has intended for me to do so.
Hi The3ntropy.
It really depends on the situation. But if the doctor told me I had terminal cancer and the best they could do was extend my life three to six months, I would really be tempted not to go through all the pain of surgery and chemotherapy. I'm not sinless, but I know where I'm going when I die. I'm not for assisted suicide, but there comes a time where are efforts to prolong life become counterproductive.
Hard question, I in general think suicide is terribly wrong, even when terminally ill, the decision can be made under duress. But if a person is in their right mind and wants to end their lives, they should be able to do it, the problem with that is who decides when that person is in their "right mind"? The pain that is caused by suicide to family and friends is criminal that is for sure, but the pain one suffers for a terminal illness is also criminal. It is a bitch either way. I guess for me it is something I have to disagree with for the most part. Assisted suicide that is. But I sure do see both sides of the situation. I don't envy anyone in that position that is for sure.
Assisted Suicide - I am against it... with a caveat....
If you want to commit suicide I think that, when given the right reasons (chronic illness/pain, chronic depression [not teenaged angst, but more the kind of depresion that sets in after your sig. other dies after 50 years of monogomy or some similiar tragedy]) suicide is an acceptable action.
But I am uncomfortable with the idea of someone else ending a life that is not theres...if you do that you can never be sure what the victims last thoughts were...did they change there mind? Was there a moment of doubt? Because you can never be sure, unless your incompetent, you should not be the one to end anothers life....
So that begs the question where do you draw the line? Is it ok to set up the machine, ok to give the person the switch, ok to helpe them push it? (I must admit here my unfamiliarity with modern suicide apparatus) I would say yes to 1 and 2, and a firm no to three....what do y'all think?
suicide serves no purpose, we are all here till the end (our end)
i dunno if its more survival of the spieces, but why live if all you can do is think about ending it mean why do still born babies occur, dosnt that prove that weve struggled do far, and given sometimes more chances than others, why not continue?
Its not more a question of Law, but social values, what are tehy gonna do lock them up? yeah that`ll really change their mind.
but i suppose everyone is in control of their own future/health, and can do whatever they wish, we connot control or tell others what do do.
