Thanks, Negative. It's good to be back among intelligent people. I had to spend a year in the business world surrounded by lawyers. What a bunch of losers. Money sucks. LOL
deb, I'm a little surprised that more people aren't alarmed.
Scares the **** right out of me. The whole concept seems to me to be the worse thing to happen to mankind since Adam and Eve were cast from the Garden of Eden. ;-)
I see future generations of this chip capable of linking your senses to a database of information, instantly providing answers to questions input by your 5 senses.
Of course, I did a lot of acid in the 70's and I see a lot of things like this so, don't be alarmed. LOL

The intention is fine, I guess. Being able to scan a patient who may be unable to communicate for one reason of another and be able to retrieve life-saving info - BUT
As stated in a couple earlier posts, the possible abuses and/or changes in the use of the system scares the hell out of me.
It opens the door to the possibility of people being scanned as they enter specific areas and then possibly being denied entrance as the result of some prejudice or discrimation. In this light, the technology shows some possible use for law enforcement agencies, but still there exists the possibility of gross misconduct with the use of such technology.
Another possibility that really bothers me is that the information could be used as a register of all of your movements, associations, etc. and could quite possibly become a threat to privacy. Such information could be used to profile individuals and then coupled with the technology could be used to identify groups of people and their locations for use in rounding up folks or whatever.
Before you discount the idea think about it. Any time the government or any organization keeps logs of your activities and locations, they are able to use that information against you. The Nazis did it to the Jews in WWII. They went and seized the weapon registration cards and used that information to exterminate the Jews who had the means to resist first.
Granted in today's world, something that drastic in nature probably wouldn't happen again, but the information could easily be misused with horrible consequences.
