If that person was a total newbie then i feel a bit sorry for 'em. Your new, how are you supposed to know what is going on?Quote:

Why am I never in IRC when things like this go on? Oh man... tears in my eyes on that one.
If that person was just acting and making total fools out of the people who where telling him what stuff was for what, then I find it f-ing hilarious. :)
oh come ON people...i mean yea its funny to have a little newbie reset his box when he doesnt know what he's doing and stuff, but having him deltree is just wrong and IMO incredibly lame. the whole POINT of sites like this is to TEACH, not torture for no reason.
basically, grow up guys(ok, i admint i did laugh alot, but the whole deltree thing is too much)...i mean it looks to me like some of you havent really gotten past the whole script kiddie "l3ts fux0r uþ 7h4t b0x0r f0r n0 g3wd r34s0n" attitude :-/
actually, i feel a more than just a "bit" sorry for them...i mean i can still remember the time when i might ask for advice from sombody on something as lame as that(not on the internet...it really wasnt arround when i was that stupid), and i can see now how this person(assuming they were serious) is going to have to explain to their parrents what happened and probably wind up spending money thinking that the pc is totaly shot now(i mean a person of that level of computer experiance DEFINATLY doenst know enough to re-install his OS). even if they just take it to a "repair" place, its gonna cost ATLEAST a good $50-$100 for the place to just look at it, figure out they need to re-install the os, and then go through re-loading all the software.Quote:

i laughed for a while but felt sorry for the n00b.. i mean, if it was for real.. then that n00b just wiped out his whole HDD.. lol
I feel sorta sorry for the guy too. I thought is was all pretty funny tell the delete stuff. I have a feeling he might have been fooling you. I don't think a complete newbie would not be able to see through deltree. Besides how many people would go back into a chat room for times. That is a lot of times to have to reconnect and get to the chat room. Most likely he just disconectted from the chat room adn reconnected minutes later.
i think i wet myself...?
c'mon, the kid couldn't use DOS, that's gotta be a joke right? I'm part of the Information Generation, for years DOS was my only friend, we had conversations for hours!
e.g.

Or that's how it would run in 'fake' DOS, the consolation prize for XP users like myself...but you get he idea, NOBODY should be allowed in chatrooms if they don't have the initiative to play around on their computer...survival of the fittest prevails once again....lol

If the guy actually was a newbie, then I fail to see the humour. They've come on to ask questions and to learn something and there treated horribly. It didn't look like they were acting hard and it didn't look like they were being rude. I don't see how it was warranted.
Humm, goes to show you some people really should not be at a computer. While I did find it funny, could this type of behavior also cause some people here to wonder how valid your answers are to other questions if the questions is not up to your level of knowledge? What has happened to the "only bad questions is one that is not asked?" Did this event help someone answer is no, could it change how they will use the computer, seek revenge possably. Like I said funny, but I will question any answers from the people involved in this event. In short this sort of thing can in the real world damage your professional computer standing.
