I hope the AMD comment was a joke, I have a AMD at 475Mhz, and it is pretty prone to overheating, even with the case open and a big fan aimed at it to cool it down.
I've never really been a huge fan of Celeron. Granted, this is better than a AMD vs. Intel thread, it's still basically opinions. I'd go with the P3, since I have one, and haven't had any problems with it. I'm gonna wait till 3.5ghz before I buy a new one.
wouldn't it depend on what you want to use the processor for
for games, p3 definately, because its able to obtain faster frame rates. (naturally amd would be sought after if games were in mind from the begining)
the microarchitecture in each processor is different, pentium being the newer
celeron are cheaper than pentium, probably a cache memory related thing also.
