well i know its sad but i have never even SEEN a linux system in action....i know i know iknow total newbie right... well i just want to learn some stuff you know... im getting a linksys router and i need a ethernet card for the older box....and then i guess i should be set.... i dont know exactly what im going to do... i mean when its all set up... there isnt really a purpose to the maddness...maybe to let my girlfriend use one while i use the other...i dont know really...it was just kinda an idea i had because everyone is always talking about linux i thought i would give it a try...also the networking..get some experience with that...if anyone has some practical ideas/uses for doing this let me know.

Are you guys all horny for rh? Come one, sure it is nice, but it would be nicer by far, to get something more than just the core packages. TRY ZIPSLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! get it at http://www.slackware.com it also runs WITH windows, does not try to take over your partition. I am a big fan of slackware, because of their forum support, as well as their zipslack and bigslack ease of install. All you have to do is unzip, and configure it to mount, which shouldn't take long, and BOOM. You have your own linux distro, not the best distro ever, but you can download all kinds of extra packages, like x-windows. Or you can get bigslack which is the same except it comes with most of those packages already in the file. GET IT NOW!!

I have installed many old boxes with linux.I think with KDE i got it down to less then 300mb but mandrake 8.2 min install is like 20mb or something like that.Hello command line
