there's other things computers can be used for then just work stations. if someone were to build a print server.....firewall....anything of that nature, that would only have to sit in a closet most of the time and maybe looked at once a month, i would use an operating system like slack.
someone mentioned freeBSD, if you want my opinion, go with that.
i don't want FreeBSD.. it looks wack..i'm going to stick with RedHat..thanx a lot for the help guys

I will agree, however, that OpenBSD is a very secure default installation, but I believe that any distribution of Linux or BSD can be made to be very secure with the right knowhow.
chsh, I like Slack too, but I'd have to say the most secure Linux distribution I've ever seen was SELinux released by the NSA:

Yes, but we are discussing about secure servers, wether it be Linux/BSD or Solaris for all I care.
