There's a saying here in the Netherlands: Even if Brazil and Italy play the last round, Germany is going to win. Heh. I guess they have beaten us to much ;)
I am upset the the U.S.A have lost but I guess today, Germany was definitely the better team. I feel it should have been a penalty, but thats the ref's call. Im actually pulling for portugual.
****, USA played their hearts out and controlled the ball for most of the game. We SHOULD have won that game. If Donnovan had actually KICKED the dam ball at the goal before getting into Kahn's face, we could have won easily. As far as the hand ball on the line, well, it looked unintentional to me and wasn't a PK infraction. If he had actually gone after the ball with his hand, then that would be different. His hands were at his side where they were supposed to be, and the ball hit his hand, not the other way around.
I love some of the negs I get.. lolQuote:
**** states!!germanyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I watched both games and was supporting both teams that eventually lost ... oh well
..... the US team did very well, they got to the World Cup and then onto the 1/4 finals .... now they have to overcome the European style of play of defending a lead ...
.... England played well but I thought they tired in the heat towards the end .... both were great matches to watch .... be proud your countries made it to the World Cup .... mine didn't :(
Looking forward to the next World Cup .... the tide of soccer dominance is definitely changing.
nah USA lost today!!!!!!!!! BRAZIL ALL THE WAY BABY!
I've got to admit, I was really happy that the US did as well as they did. For a nation that doesn't support it's soccer team as much as others, our boys did quite well. I'm hopeful for the next year.
The mood is still terrible here in England, The whole country believed we could win it, But as me and my friends agreed, it is to hot out in japan for our players, they got worn out in the heat. I would have loved to see the USA beat Germany and go on and win the cup, but unfortually the germans kept closing them down whenever they tried to score.
Oh well, I am off to the Euro champinships in2004 in portugal, and I am looking forward to a brillian world cup in Germany in 2006, Maybe the USA could get one back on there own turf!
