Have you tried just reinstalling Internet Explorer? I don't accept anything but 'session cookies' and clean all cache files upon reboot. Some sites (PayPal for instance) will show an error message even when I've reset to accepting cookies. If the sites you're having problems with are anything like PayPal, just click on their "Logon" tab and presto chango . . . you're in. Wish you luck.

I tried this when my I.E would not login and Netscape worked. So you may have no troubles with Opera.
If you ever need I.E...As i said!
I tried everything until i found there could only be something wrong on the motherboard.
I was offered this BAT file..try it if you know how??
If Exist c:\WINDOWS\fff*.tmp del c:\WINDOWS\fff*.tmp
deltree /y C:\WINDOWS\temp
deltree /y C:\WINDOWS\tempor~1
deltree /y C:\WINDOWS\cookies
deltree /y C:\WINDOWS\win386.swp
deltree /y C:\temp
exit
This did not fix my system but may help you???

Yes i tried this on my own box but it did not fix my problem.
By the time i had tried this i had installed Windows 5 times and I.E over and over.
So next was to put in another hard drive with fresh install of windows..Still the problem was there..The bios on the motherboard needed to be updated..After this was done i have never had another problem logging in again.

I am using a BAT file similar to the one you have. Basically this is cleaning your cookies and temporary files caches at bootup. I have a few more lines in mine which also take care of the index.dat cache and a few other cache-type files. I don't have the SWP file reference though so maybe I'll add that.

Did the cookie problem start after you upgraded to IE6 or . . . ? I'm sticking with IE5.5 because I heard 6 had quite a few bug issues. Until I switch over to Linux . . . I'll probably continue with the same browser . . . it may not be the best but it's working great with my firewall and AV. I hope you can figure out what happened - especially if all was working well before the cookie problem. Take it easy.

Vvirtho: No, i upgraded to IE 6 because i thought that might sort the problem, but alas it didnt!
Downloaded Opera last night and gonna install tonight, so cheers lads for the help, appreciated!
