A lot of providers will simply disconnect the victim sites rather than bother with the problem, and this seems to be partly the case with 2600. It's a shame, but from the provider's point of view it's often easier (and, more importantly, cheaper) to get rid of a problem than to deal with it. :(
Exactly, the victim is seen as the cause of the problem.
Many ISP's think ditching them is a faster and better alternative.

Ditching the victim is, for most ISPs, a faster alternative, although it's not better and they're shooting themselves in the foot in the long run because they'll be losing business. Although I suppose they balance the lost revenue against the time, effort and cost to solve the problem.

I enjoy the 2600 magazines very much, the funny thing however, about the 2600 IRC channels is that they're filled with script kiddies and other lamers. I logged into it once or twice and all they ever did in there was rant about 2600 and the EFF... I don't know about u guys and gals here but I have great respect for the work 2600 does. And DoS or DDoS'ing any1 is wrong, even if the network is filled with nothing but illiterate lamers.

I'm forced to agree with pwaring. Its part of the nature of the that industry. It's not seen as being worth their time to find a different solution, (no lucritive incentives) so why throw men and money at it. <<or women... I'm not sure how PC this group is yet...>>
