I have dhcp, I asked my ISP to keep my IP static, they were suspicious and I knew that they did not want to stop using dhcp for me, so I said that 1. When they were renewing my IP my internet connection went dead which was unsatisfactory as I was constantly using it to communicate and to provide services. (Kinda a lie, kinda :)) 2. Some applications crashed and caused my computer to freeze up when renewing as they were connected to the internet and had programming errors that forced me to reboot my computer. Well, my ISP wasn't too happy aboot it but they did make my IP static, and I always hear about those tools for people with dynamic IPs who host a site. Try using google to look up something like "dynamic IP hosting" or something similar.
