Well, I guess the count of posts needed to be able to have a custom avatar has been changed :P. Way back then, more than ten posts were needed to be able to upload a custom Avatar :).

A post/or 2 is enough, for you to be able to customize your Custom Avatar, just look at the front page where its stated 'Earn site benefit"
