your right briareus, educating the public is something that needs to be done on a massive scale. the average non-technical type really dosn't have a clue. but your idea makes sense. if we all just do our part and educate those around us, in a non-intrusive way, maybe we can make an impact.
it is a massive amount of data. But when you stop and think that cray type computers are pretty much obsolete. i don't know what they're using now, and factor in distributed computing on a global scale, its really no too much data to manage.

As far as I know, the government of Great Britain wanted to make a law of that kind as well but the people made it fall again.
Yes, they mentioned that the companies have to save the data at least 6 month.
I agree, this is a very huge amount of data... but the companies all have to save it on their own costs.
I can't believe they really do this...
And yeah, I read 1984 as well - it's a terrible imagination when projecting it on out world today...
