Transparent Graphics

What's wrong with MS Paint in Windows? I'm wondering if it's possible to make the background transparent. I haven't been able to and still wonder if it can be done. Anybody know?

try a search on www.download.com for freeware graphic programs i got a few good free ware products there just a suggestion
