it seems to me the US government has the most to gain from the showing of these tapes. People see them and get all pumped up again. Look at what theres monsters want to do to us, look what they did to those dogs. this raises anti-terrorist feelings. makes me wonder about those tapes

Come on. Analyze that question. Is CNN supporting terrorism? Of course not. Be more realistic. Troops or information gathering departments probably found the videos and sold to them the parts that do not jeopardize any national security.
-
Part that puzzles me is if they hate americans so much why are they making business transactions with us?
-
Wow a very nice topic!!!
the question is, How they able to have a communication with Al-Queda, is there something behind CNN?
As we all knew that CNN is one of the leading News Network.
But for me Both of them are making Business.......
each of them are making personal interest.......
----for CNN, maybe for popularity purposes...
----for Al-Queda, it is exactly for making funds and rebuilding the organization....

oh, ac1d! after singing your praises, I feel terrible now to come out in such strong opposition to what you jsut said. I'm a big CNN fanatic and you couldn't be further form the truth.
The fact is, all tape on tv news was paid for, one way or another. CNN could not just call up AlQaida and go "hey, got any terrorism training tapes?"... in the first place, this information was made public by defectors whoare now on our side to begin with, and who gave the tape to our armed forces. As wrong as I think we are in what we're doing in Afghanistan, the best move the army could have made was selling these tapes off, and you know the news organizations bit when tempted with over 1500 hours of training video from public enemy #1.
I ask all of you to consider: Do you think CNN (and CBS, also being accused) is an evil ENOUGH corporate entity to put ratings before the war on terror? Not in this or any other lifetime. These tapes are not enough reason to betray the american people. This myth, it seems, first popped up thanks to Fox News and NBC. Do we smell conspiracy?
Also, drug money is not used to support terror unless your dealer gets his from Sudan or Afghanistan. Another popular myth started by opposition.
Please, everybody, read into this more before we get pissed at CNN. I might very well be completely wrong... but if you wanna be mad, be mad at terrorists. But don't be mad a tthe people trying to give you a better understanding of them.

Damn.... What would you have done? Would you have just continued to let Osama Bin Laden train those terrorist Armys. I can see it now..... "Excuse me Pres. Punchthebaby, we have a problem, it seems as though there is a militant group training people to kill American Civilians in Afghanistan, oh by the way today they killed over 6000 Americans." What in hell would you have us do.
Now I agree that the operations over their were poorly put together, and the bombs should not have been dropped so hastily and unaccuratly, but WTF Punch.... My question again, What would you have done if you were pres?

Okay, punchthebaby, I want full rvenge against them. Im sure as hell not letting Bin Laden and His group stay alive. He is the reason I have no father or grandfather and I want to see him die. I would DEFINITELY do what we're doing in afganistan and possibly, alot more. Sorry, thats just how I feel. --Jason Copeland

i'm sprised that cnn would do something to support the terrorist, i'd like to see a little more solid evidence before attaking them, however if they did they have commited a crime against the US and humanity as severe as those they funded by funding them.

I most definately understand that there is a lot of emotion involved in this.
I myself lost nearly 3000 members of my humble species on 9/11, something I do not take lightly.
Please let me go on.
There are people half a world away responsible for the killing of about 3000 americans one day. Once we found out who it was, we did what a child does when smacked in the sandbox: we smacked back. Not a surgical strike. Not a precision taking-out of high level officials. We riddled an entire country with smart bombs for no other reason than to extract revenge. Revenge is not good policy. What "they" (as if we can define "they") did to us was terrible, wrong, and mindbending, and it tore me up inside as an american citizen, but what we did in return was no less devious an act simply because it came after theirs did. We are supposed to be a nation based on Liberty and Justice, and our attacks in afghanistan were nothing but childishly planned out acts of vengeance and bloodlust. We've taken foreign policy to a new level: Now, not only are you not allowed to be plotting against us, you're not allowed to hate us (Iraq, Cuba), you're not allowed to think different than us (Sudan) and you are sure as HELL not allowed ot have any secrets (everybody.)
America's heritage is one of diversity and understanding. An act of war was commited on us, but not by the nation of afghanistan.. it was commited by people living within this country. We've set up a new democratic government, we've killed nearly twice as many afghan soldiers as they killed american citizens, and we are now currently detaining more people at Guantanimo Bay than I can remember. These detainees are held without access to lawyers or even basis of guilt.
As a country, the mood has swung up and down, and very few people seem to realize the hypocracy in giving up everyhting we stand for just to get them back. What I also find shocking is that people claiming to be true red-blooded americans suddenly lash at my throat for questioning the policies of my government. Remember 1776? That was one hell of a revolution, and it didn't stop there. We're meant to think about what's going on, not just mindlessly accept current policy in the name of lady liberty.
That is not the American way.
And, to add further insult to the countless people whose lives have been swept under the rug by the "war on terror," Osama Bin Laden still walks free.

Hmmm, a 5 figure sum!? jeez, that's a lot of money! I can't believe that CNN would give that much money to get footage of what Al-Quada does. It's such a shame.
