COMMON SENSE --- Hacking a web page is wrong, web defacements are wrong. Does the subject matter of the website change the fact that it is wrong. NO! --- COMMON SENSE
LACK OF BRAIN USAGE --- Trying to justify hacking a web page on a security site that is against hacking and web defacements. I would suggest reporting the URL to the web hosting company and to the law enforcement. just keep your nose clean --- LACK OF BRAIN USAGE
MY TWO CENTS --- I'm even more distrubed that you know the location of this web page. I have never accidently stumbled across a child porn site myself, but I would be sure that they probably would have had it well hidden, seeing it is illegal --- MY TWO SENCE
WHAT TO DO --- I would suggest maybe deleting the thread or re-phrasing your questions and statements. I believe the subject matter of this thread is of poor quality, and I would advise you some other members that are not on may feel the same way, and take actions against your opinions in way you may not like, and it would be too late to delete the thread at that time. That is just my opinion. --- WHAT TO DO

I must agree with the majority here. Yes it would be wrong to hack them. Getting them off the internet is a must though. Any legal means used to take these sites ofline is acceptable.
-
I'm also agreeing with Joey, two wrongs dont make a right.
As a side question:
Once I had reported s site to their web host, as the materials posted on the site was in violation of the Terms of service.
As well I found a javascript exploit that, upon entering their site, was uploaded to your computer and would begin infection. My antivirus caught it befor it could do anything. But a week after me reporting them to the hosting company I noticed the site was still there. Should I have reported them to the isp instead of the web host?

I'm going with it is wrong. Don't get me wrong I am a father, an Uncle heck even a Grand Uncle. One of the main reasons not to mess with this type of site it that you may destory the very things that are needed to put people as this behind bars. There have been a few international busts lately. Why because professional people that know how to investiagate and preserve evadance in a crime do so. Hack the site you may destroy a few months or years worth of work by professionals. Yes be outraged as a soceity we must but a lynch mob mentality never works. Let the pro's handle it think they are not report it and then stick to the report and bug the hell out of them to the point you know something is being done by them.

Is it wrong to kill a murderer? Is it wrong to burn down an arsonists house? Is it wrong to rob a con artist?
If you answered yes, that it is wrong, to all of these - which I hope you did- then you will see why it is just as wrong to hack child porn sites. There is no reason to be a vigilante when the law will do it's job.

Yes, it is wrong to hack a child pornography site, The correct way to go about it would be to report the URL to the FBI's internet fraud and abuse sector.
Sure sounds great... However, what if the site is hosted and run in a foreign country where the FBI holds no jurisdiction, which is often the case?

Sudo > actually they can't hide behind other countries anymore, esp since the creation of the ICC. Probably the only good thing I can see to the ICC, taking out foriegn pedophiles and child pornographers.

yes i agree.. with .. batch.. because when u are hacking.. child
pro sites.. u are not going to teach that person a lesson.. or he is
not going to stop his.. doings.. he will again .. upload the site..
or may be implement some good security features.. or make his/her site
stronger... so that way a hacker will be wasting his time..
instead.. report the URL to FBI .. and if the person is caught.. then
that will be the end of that site...
what do u say..??

As one having a pure hatred and disgust for child pornography, I personally would love to see the hackings of such sites, amongst other things for the people that run those things.
Unfortunatly, to do such would sort of run along the parallel lines of vigilantism, and as much as I hate to admit it with this particular subject; Two wrongs don't make a right.

At this point, I do support Joey. Better say CRACK rather than HACK becoz both have different perception.
