What women want.....

Heh, I have found that honesty is ALWAYS the best policy. This seems to be even more pertinent in a relationship. I'm by no means an expert, but I currently have a very good running relationship that is based on honesty.

Now honesty doesn't mean telling them what they want to hear, and vice versa. Sometimes honesty hurts, but in the long run it's the best thing. Honesty will build a strong foundation for trust, and a good relationship is always based on mutual trust between partners.



/me laughs at the "shotgun"questions mentioned before.

Any time you hear a woman ask "does this make my butt look big?" you can just HEAR the shotgun being cocked in the background. No answer is right, pretend you are deaf ;)

Ok, let me say this. I think there can be exceptions to this just as you guys already mentioned. You have to keep her feelings in mind, but for the most part, it's best to tell how you actually feel. If not, you will find yourself in a situation wondering "how in the hell did I get myself into this!?" I've been there, and it's not too fun. My wife and I have developed a relationship where she asks me for my opinion on her outfits everyday. And you know what - I tell her exactly how I feel about how she looks in every outfit. The reason why she even bothers to ask me in the first place is because she knows that I will tell her the truth and not some buttered up, transformed, metamorphisized form of it... LOL Anyway, I think you can earn more respect by being honest; however, there is one small detail that gets many people in trouble when they are very honest with people - the delivery. I could tell you countless stories of how someone told another person the truth about how they felt, but it came across the wrong way and feelings were hurt. Think before you speak. ;)

My advice:

*Always* respect the woman you are with, that way you
don't have to think too long how to say something.

Being a male, and being with my girl for over 6 years, I have found not having an opinion and keeping my mouth shut works a treat! :D

There are some tidbits of very sound advice sprinkled throughout this thread, and I think we all owe the female members a large collective 'thank you' for sharing their insights with us. While reading the responses, I recalled another bit of wisdom that comes in handy when dealing with the 'fairer sex'. I can't take credit for this, as I believe it was Roy Rogers, 'The Singing Cowboy' who said "There are only two ways to argue with a woman....and neither of them work."

This is my personal opinion and I must say that I have to agree with deb on this one. I found that honesty in life carries a lot of weight and if your life is based on that, you will be just fine. Believe me when I say that a guilty conscience is something that very often leads to somebody’s downfall, whether it be money wise, women or whatever the case maybe.

Heh, I gotta agree with GG and Deb...we're not asking for much. Although last time i told a man to be himself, he stopped talking to me. Go figure! =(
