well wnbc, it's not about being able to afford or not, i just thought that when there is so much shareware and freeware available, there must be one for this too.
WEll angrys back, this is a computer in a cybercafe, that's the problem, you see, so ifim using the administrator user, everybody else is using it, so the permissions dont work.

Here ive got this very cool software.
This worked wonders for me, except the fact that if you wonder how to lock/unlock.
Click the folder, and if you have folders inside it, just go to any sub-folder and then click "lock"
you will find that the main folder is locked.
When you do it for the first time, make some trial folders, so that no loss of data occurs.

There is a program for Windows 95/98 called Scramdisk - this is free and provides very strong encryption, of a virtual drive letter. When the drive is "dismounted", the drive letter is not visible and it's impossible* to tell if it's an empty container or full of top secret stuff.
There is a winNT / win2k version of this but it is commercial, however not very expensive.
* Not actually impossible, probably merely very difficult.
Note that on Windows under normal circumstances, doing anything with the shell, explorer or almost any other program leaves traces of the existence of your files in the registry and other places, therefore if you wish to hide the existence (as oppose to just the contents) of the files, it may be necessary to take extreme precautions, like reimaging your system disc after every session.

It is always wise to backup data before any major (or even most minor) changes.
