I'm putting together theoretical networks in some router simulation software.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to the several grand needed for buying the real kit and software needed.
I'm just trying to discuss whether what I am trying to do would work in real life as I've tried it in the software simulator with partial success. I think it appears to be a fault with the software I'm using.

i believe you can access the command line within a 1900 series switch. if thats possible, you can just configure the vlan by typing interface vlan x. and adding the ip address under it.
The problem isn't the switch, it's the router. ie. it's not. Routing that is.
I've had this comfirmed by the software publishers and they're going to issue a fix for it.
Nowt to do till it's out I suppose.
Base on your configuration , i've tested it in real routers and switch . It didn't work . However , When i typed the command : "no ip address " in the Fastethernet main interface , things turned out to be fine .
So , one advice (maybe it is needless) but : Do not use the Simulation Software , they're stink.Buy real one .
