Hi, I'm not expert on hadware, But I used to have problem like you (I've got Pentium 3 550 mhz 128 RAM) My comp won't boot and I tried to unplugged my RAM card and I switched around and I put it back..

thanks for all the input here guys (and gals maybe?), mum took it back today and they checked everything and they concluded that it has to be the mobo that is a bit dodgy, but it seems like this is a common problem with the processor not being inserted properly by the sounds of it, cant really call an AMD a ZIF socket processor than can we?
obviously they didnt even test the thing before handing it over to us since the floppy being disconnected would have shown in the BIOS screen anyway, bit of a worry as the used system i bought from thenm is fine but the new one aint too good at all :-(
i'll post again when i get it back with what happened as a sorta extra input and knowledge thing
