when did that happen? I was just over at a friend's house no later than a week and a half ago and he was doing benchmarks on madonion.com...and it was still called madonion.com
ok just to even check... yes madonion.com goes to futuremark.com BUT you can still download the 3DMark2001SE if you want to, to test your computer. I just did, and it worked fine. You CAN buy a licensed copy, or the PRO version of the software if you like... but you don't have to.
where did you find the free version? The only thing I was able to trace down was the PRO and SE version and they both had price tags associated with them.
I'm sleepy this morning so I problably missed something on the site.

you live within the US right El Diablo?
yah, I'm on the left coast and it was a very early morning for me. I only got about 2 hours of sleep because some "hackers" thought it would be funny to attempt to DoS our network.... bah I need more coffee :D

Okay, Instead of just starting a new thread I'm going to ask the my question here. I am looking to get a new machine ( my old one is gone and I am stuck going to friends and the public library) and I can't find anyone to finance me on getting one. It will take be forever to save the $1200 needed for a new machine (already basically figured out what I need). Any ideas on a company that might extend some kind finance to me so I could get one? And would it be better to go to a OEM or build it?

El Diablo... where you working at? DoS...that's some serious stuff man, sorry to hear about that!!
hijack, as for a computer. What all do you want the computer for, if you want a really basic computer, goto wal-mark and get one of their towers for 200 bucks, and find a used salvage place for computer stuff and buy a monitor and keyboard and mouse. If you do it like that, you won't pay anything more than $300.00 USD.
For something with more of a kick, you will probably end up spending between $400-$700 USD. I know, I build this stuff for people all the time. Buy off the net, build it yourself (or have a friend do it), and save yourself 600 bucks. Sorry to hear about the credit problems man...
ooooooooh, Liquid cooling...I could have goten that...but I don't like the idea of water(or other liquid) near my Computer...I sepnt alot of money on it.
AAAGH.....My machine isn't gona be her till friday now, they keep changing the date coz they can't get the box....ugh...
Good luck, make sure you post a picture.....becides that, every thing looks honky-dory (I'v always wanted to say that...lol)

I will admit that liquid cooling is a scary thought. I mean I bought a case and did it MYSELF with no experience in that field. I've probably put together over 200 computers in my day from scratch, but that was the most nerve racking! Though I must say, I have an AMD 1800+ which has never gone over 94 degrees F. And that is even after overclocking it 200 MHz. I've very happy with my purchase, and would recommend that ANYONE who has a computer in a place where it can't get proper air flow, or is a big overclocker who is scared of CPU temps rising, get a liquid cooled setup.
I bought mine from Koolance, I spent maybe a total of $300USD on the case, water blocks, and shipping. I had a friend who built one from LOWS for under $100USD.
