You cant bump the same thread twice within 5 hours, which means that if its the same post being bumped up serveral times a day, then there has to be more people.
but, would it be a good idea to make it that you can only bump any post every 5 hours. for example, if you bump post #1 you can bump any other post, including that same post for 5 hours. that way, only 1 useless and uniformative post is bumped every 5 hours, unless there is more that one person doing it.

Guys,
Bumping alliances??? APs alliances??? negging alliances??? If this s**t happens here then, sorry, but i must say: "What A LOT of false people here!!!"
Let's see if i can explain myself. I'm saying this because we CAN realize how a person is looking at his/her way of writing, saying things, etc., (you can always has a way to know a person good or bad manners) and i NEVER saw a person (at least an active member and not a banned one) that has "that" bad manners. I mean we all are "good" persons when posting, we're all pleasant, nice and friendly (while posting or answering threads), then if this s**t is happening then some of us are being really FALSE, writing "public" friendly threads but making alliances, or bumping old threads flooding the main page, etc. So maybe some of us knows who is doing this and doesn't say a word about it. There's always some members that NEVER answer "this" kind of threads, weird... and why???
Well, I liked your suggestions to stop this, mine is that JP let us handle this "problem" creating a system where it shows the persons that bumped the thread, like putting something like: "Bumped by: (member's nick)", so if we don't like what he/she did we KNOW what to do.
Thanks,
DKRR

Hi,
Like I said before in the 'Oh Man...' thread, Let JP create a Top 10 Bumpers, so you can actuallly see who bumped it, as well as their colleague bumpers.
What do you think,
Greetz,

Aha, what a refreshing idea :p

Hi all.
(now that i was corrected and know its a bumping issue) i like the idea of the top 10 bumpers.
Another solution would be, that newbies should not have bumping as an option. I doubt it that someone who has been here long enough, to gain a higher status will be doing these kind of things. People who actually make it to jr.member or above are a little bit more serious. (well, most of the time that is :p ) Anyways, like i said, i like the ideas of the top 10, the idea of not giving newbies the acccess to bump up threads (also the ability to assign antipoints maybe), and the idea of showing the name of the person who has bumped up threads. Maybe also (like discussed before) limiting the bumping, but this detail should be discussed with more detail. Let us hope that either way a solution is found for this.
Cheers.

Hi,
Maybe somebody with a good contact with JP, could provide him the necessary info,
Let him decide ! I think here at seniors , moderators , ... anyone
I'm also a newbie here, but even I never bumped something, and for me it's as annoying
as everybody in the 2 ' bumping ' threads....

I don't reply to this because there:
1) is more in life then bitching about bitches
2) the kids enjoy reading our "useless" bitching
3) isn't anything we can do about it, because:
a) JP doesn't have time to deal with little kids flooding the forum
b) the kids don't care if they're banned, they can just sign up for a new account or already have 20
4) I have alot more, but I guess you got the point already
at least I didn't do it

Too Busy????????????
How long could it possibly take to fix this issue? Too ****ing bad that IRC takes precidense over the majority (pardon my spelling, I am just pissed off at the moment. ) Sorry for bitching folks, but this is an ongoing problem that needs to be fixed!!!!!!!!!
Dump the ****ing bump option completely this will take all of about 5 minutes or less ( about the time it takes to ban someone in the IRC chatrooms ) If they can't bump they will have to post to it to get it on the main page, I for one don't use the bump option because I am not afraid to post if I want it on the main page to be seen!

The only weapon is the antipoint system...

you could definately bump the bump function, it is not really used at all. and whoever was bumping most recently could have easily made a thread with links to each of those that was bumped and enlightened us with their reasoning behind why they deem these discontinued threads worthy of a second look.
