Oh, I don't believe it is too easy to get password of someone like that!!
This thread can now end but not before i have a thing or 2 to say. As for how this happened, well i saw a display of it last night at the State Police Barracks. First they track your I.P. from either the yahoo nic or hot mail nic you mailed from. Unless you covered your tracks your static server is uncovered. Yahoo or Hotmail is first advised of what is happening. Then a ping here and there and off to the address they rolled.
I would like to say that i am happy to be a part of such a great group of people with such good advise. The advise from this room held my patience to a level to do the right thing and come out a winner.

as firestarter stated, if you saved it the person that threatened you will prolly have their account shut down and if they use broadband their ip blocked from signing up again, also you can take legal action for communicating threats. and other than email headers and webcam is to use im to scan the ip and chase it down that way. personally i wouldnt worry about the death threats. dumbasses threaten ppl all the time with death on the internet and i havnet heard of any net killers yet on court tv
I heard that a yahoo messenger user can do some sort of group message and it then tells you the persons IP address and their location...is there a way to stop this from happening or do we know if this is true.

ok so i guess i dont know what i am doing! i dont even know where to start looking to find the answers that i need...computers just confuse me! i am not good at all with pc's that have windows i am a unix user most of the time..so windows confuses me in a lot of ways.
