By the way, the older philosophy held that, since man is sinful, his
governments, too, are sinful, and therefore advocated a more modest
view of government's role as an agency whose duties were limited to
traditional law enforcement (with fewer laws), and national defense
(but only when there is a clear and present danger)
Today, the government's responsibilities have expanded even
to attempting to solve our personal psychological problems.
You sound like a Libertarian to me. Have you checked out this site? I would encourage eveyone who questions government to take a look. Hell, I'd encourage everyone to take "The worlds smallest political quiz" located there.

But to what point? Does any of you like the perspective of growing old, becomming senile and spending the rest of your days as an embarrasment to the the society you help creating?
I don't. I'd rather live fast, die young.

If by living fast you mean living life to the fullest I ‘ll agree with you on that but personally id rather live long and die fast having all things in moderation. This is also an option that’s open to me. Not everyone chooses to cling to a miserable life. it is possible to let go if i want to. Nobody can force me to go on.
I get high when I realize a solution to a problem and the fever pitch of working it to fruition fulfills me. This is feeling good to me. Not sitting back dreaming about it or getting half way threw a project and crashing or forgetting what I was doing. but thats just me.
In the states drugs are available to anyone that wants to take that road. Not everyone can walk up to a drug dealer on any street corner and get drugs (or anyplace else for that matter). There’s an “initiation” period of getting ripped off and being made a fool of, of getting to know the right people and getting to be known by the police and the so called respectable people that can stop your life dead in its tracks if they disapprove of what your doing. Im not arguing the right or the wrong in this. im just giving an observation. Anyone with any sense knows that this is not a good road to travel. Most who experiance drugs experience those that happen to pass by them without making it a part of their life and don’t really get involved with pursuing the wrong people to get more or other drugs. others go on to be the dregs of society if their not fortunate enough to grow past it. I wouldn't imagine it to be too much different in europe but i could be wrong.
Does any of you like the perspective of being a burn out by the time your 28 and spending the rest of your days institutionalized by a society that went on without you.

"I can't take any more illicit drugs
I can't afford any artificial joy
I'd sure look like a fool dead in a ditch somewhere
With a mind full of chemicals
Like some cheese-eating high school boy"
The Pursuit of Happiness from "I'm An Adult Now"
Might I recommend a certain book... "Disinformation: You Are Being Lied To". It has an excellent chapter called "How the People Seldom Catch Intelligence, Or, How To Be a Successful Drug Dealer". The CIA might have a slight problem with the legalization of certain drugs.

but really, dope leads to trouble. and the government would have trouble making real money off of it because of marketablitity i dont remember but i learned why in class.... those two reasons are why its not legal in the U.S.
