Like Tedob1 said, it depends on the download or how the program is distributed. Common ways are:

1. As a self-extracting EXE: SETUP.EXE
2. Compressed: PROGRAM.ZIP (more rare are PROGRAM.RAR, PROGRAM.ACE...) <-- these require WinZip or the associated third party program, although WinZip handles multiple types.

Now is says corrupt cabinet file. What do i do now that it says that

download it again. you probably corrupted it trying to open it with a word processor.

being as this is a security related site id like to add that before you try to run any thing you download you should scan it first for viruss and only download from a reputable site.

what extention does this file have anyway (3 letters after the . ) is it .zip or .cab?
