For help with Mandrake drop by;
http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php - its a board run by Mandrake Users and I have found it extremely helpful and includes forums for security, installing, hardware, software etc ... friendly people on the whole.
Another good site is;
http://icculus.org/~dolson/mdkxp/ - also known as the Mandrake Experience it has some great tutorials on getting things done with Mandrake.
When I am stuck on one of those dependancy issues I look at;
http://rpm.pbone.net/ lets you seek out those rpm's that provide the dependancies with a distro specific search option.
