"Some men you just can't reach....so, you get what we had last week...which is the way he wants it, well, he gets it...but, I don't like it anymore than you men." -Cool Hand Luke
No matter what country you go to, even Canada....you're going to find petty people, it's inevitable. I'm sorry that anyone behaves in that manner, it's revolting.
BTW - What makes you think that it wasn't a bunch of high schoolers????
Boycotting France and calling them names just because they don't agree with Bush or the war? What a school yard mentality.
We gotta suck it up and realize that other countries are not always going to agree with the USA; the way the US won't always agree with other countries. Almost half of the people in this country don't agree with Bush and his little war, not just those countries over seas, remember that.
Whether one is for or against the war, one has the right to believe what they do. If someone makes a comment you don't like, you have to remember that the person came to that certain conclusion for a reason , the way you have a reason for what you currently believe. I'm sure you don't like it when people put any of you down for your opinions, so show a little curtsy when someone expresses their views on the war instead of acting like a child by being rude.
You don't have to like what someone says, but you should tolerate it. We're all adults, so lets be mature about it and set an example for our children. Tolerance people, tolerance.
I am against the war, and my boyfriend is very for it. Instead of arguing with one another, or with those who's opinions may differ from our own, we both understand that the individual has every right to think, believe, and express their differing views with out having to deal with verbal ridicule. One doesn't have to love or even like what other people think, but it doesn't mean you should begin to call them vulgar names and things. Instead of verbally bashing someone who believes war is wrong or the best thing at the moment, one should listen contently and at the end, if you don't agree with their views just say, "I respectfully disagree." Really now, it's not that hard.
I'm going to end this post with this qote:

"Just because someone is for the war doesn't mean they are out for blood, and just because someone is against the war doesn't mean they are againt America."
I agree Green.
I'm pro-war, and it's sad that people can't be mature when it comes to those who have different beliefs from their own. It's a damn shame when kids see their parents being biggots to other people who see things differently  . They are teach'in their children nothing good by doing that.
Doesn't matter what side you all are on, we have to keep from acting like angry kids in all this mess when it comes to the discussion of war.
Great post, didn't deserve the Neg. Sending you a Pos. you're way soon.
:D
Boycott France. What the Hell are people thinking? Ok - so our countries could not agree on the action for Iraq. Ok - so basically all the major global players have an interest in Iraq - currently or in the -future-. So what? Boycotting France - or any of our allies is not the key. Calling the French coward is not the key either. In WWII, France lost many of it's people fighting the war and have been on many other campaigns - including support of the US. All of those things related to Boycott France are frankly, counter-productive and ignorant.
It's like Lewis Black said of those people who were dumping French wine and champagne:
"You can't buy the wine and champagne, then dump it out and say you're boycotting France... you already bought the f-ing booze!"
I forgot that he added "Dumbasses!"
Ozzy Osbourne was once being interviewed when "religuos zealots" were burning his albums in the south. He was asked if he minded that they burned his albums, and he said as a matter of factly...."As long as they buy them first, I don't care if they make love to them." I'm paraphrasing, of course. ;)
My view from this side of the pond is that the French are to blame for starting this war.
I believe that China & Russia would have supported a new UN resolution that threatened war if Iraq did not cooperate with UN demands.
But the French said they would veto any UN resolution, so the UK & US had no choice.
A proper UN weapons inspection regime might have worked with the right intelligence information, and avoided a war.
And the French expect to be involved in a post war Iraq?
*just shakes his head in disgust and points towards the nations who actually started the war*Quote:

There is always choice.... regardless of what country you are in, you have your own mind, and you can think for yourself, therefore you have a choice. As for the UK & US.. they had one very obvious choice.. instead of going to war they could have not gone to war.Quote:

The French laid out a reasonable plan for Iraq to disarm within a specific period of time. Really it wouldn't have been that difficult to wait one extra month to please all sides, increase the legitimacy of war, and avoid undermining any of the authority of the United Nations, but the coalition jumped the gun and thats part of the reason why there is so much protest right now.Quote:
