Question of the Week!

Well pain is relative, many things can hurt a LOT!

Personnally the worst pain I have experienced was the result of greeting the bitumen at high speed a number of years ago. I was riding a push bike and a plastic bag blew under the front wheel. Not a problem normally but it picked up and jammed in the back of the forks on the front wheel catapulting me forward. I remember vividly seeing the ground swing underneath and then fluffy white clouds on a beautiful blue sky as I somersaulted before flipping again and seeing the road rush to greet me. I hit the ground pretty hard and bounced onto the footpath (side walk for the Americans:)). Fortunately for me I did this about 500m from a hospital! The result was surgery to remove stone from between a break in the bone in my right elbow and the application of plastic skin to my left shoulder and hip.

When I finally got my bike back (what was left) the computer still had the last speed recorded in it, 46kmh. Suffice to say it was a while before I got back into riding bikes again and I sure have avoided riding over any plastic bags!
