xp and Linux

That is true. However, I have seen nothing mentioning the inability to get into Windows.

But I don’t want to use floppy again and again to load LINUX and I want to keep XP also for some reason.

The original post says he installed RH and configured LILO but he is not being asked at bootup which OS he wants to boot.

My assumption is that if he boots normally it is just going into XP like it always has and that if he uses his RH boot floppy he can go into Linux.

Maybe my assumption is incorrect, but I don't see anything implying that Windows XP is in any way disfunctional.

That will not repair the Master Boot Record that has been modified, even if he can boot windows which he most likely cannot because of Lilo.

I guess that only RITESH GAUR can truly answer what his situation is. I would submit that nothing in his post mentioned having a messed up MBR either.

He doesn't say he can't get into Windows XP or that Windows XP is having any problem. All his post said was that he is not being prompted for which operating system to boot to.

Again, I may be wrong. That is how *I* interpreted the original post.

The only reason I'm assuming this is because that's exactly what Lilo does, modifies the MBR for Linux. You are correct, I'm sure RITESH GAUR will reply with some specifics...now I'm curious.

Yes Wazz, but, as it had already been said before, the RH installation program can install the bootloader on either the MBR or the primary partition of the Linux system which is not the same thing. In fact, even if I'm not sure, I think it installs it on the primary partition by default. In this case, the MBR is still configured to boot XP without worrying about Linux. That's why Tonybradley is assuming the XP system works.
