Undertaker: One point you appear to have missed, I say appear because I am making the assumption that this computer connects to the net sometimes or is on hi-speed. That is the possibility of a skiddie from the outside.......
Just a thought you might want to consider..... IMO, if these kids are that good they would probably lock you out of the box too...... ;)

My sister law had the same problem it wouldn't boot into windows kept comming up missing batch file here one of her sons or their friends downloaded the nyb virus so i would do 2,4 and if worst comes worst i do 5

I'd say that your best bet is to put Win 2k or XP Pro. Create User Accounts. And limit the accounts of the kids to all that they can do is run programs but do not have rights to change or delete files.
Of course give the dad an account with full access rights. If worse comes to worse use the crowbar option.

3, 5 twice, 6, and also set up some **** in registry that will stop them from doing this.
Also, an old trick i used to pull at school, hide the system folders but create a new shortcut to the Windows reboot or shutdown.dll so when they double click it, it shuts down, all youll have to do is change the icon from a shortcut to a folder icon, then you an have some real fun.
PS: i dont think giving the dad admin access is a good idea, if he isnt a computer person the kids will just trick him into giving them it
