Government Layoff

Yes. I have worked at the Airport for 4 years. But I have only worked with the Government for 6 months. I was a Supervisor for TSA. Airport Security. When I graduated High school in 99' I got a job with a company called Globe Security at the airport. The airport itself contracted them. I worked my way up to Supervisor my first year there. Then I worked as a supervisor for 2 1/2 years more. After September 11 . . . . TSA was being created. We all thought we were going to loose our minimum wage jobs . . . yes . . . I worked my way through College on $5.15 a ****ing hour. The Gov. came in and let us apply first for the jobs since we had experience. I passed the tests at a Supervisor's level. And I got the job. Before this . . . I worked at a Grocery Store for a while . . .. big deal. Before that I worked construction too. Building houses . . . pouring concrete, hanging sheetrock, everything . . .. Fun fun fun. Im sorry if you think I am whineing. Im not. I have a lot of friends here that have helped me through many hard times. I was just letting them know what was happening. Your a ****ing new member who dosn't know **** about this community. Learn the people. It will help you to gain many friends here. But turn on the wrong people and you will have many enemies. I hold nothing against you. Hell. . . . I don't know you. . . You could be pretty cool. I dont know. We will see with time. If you want to be friends that cool. I don't care. Your whole response to RogueSpy shows that you need to take some time before replying (I am also guilty of this often). Rogue just lost a job he was quite happy with, and it will take some time for him to recover from that blow. It's understandable. You're a dick, and that is a slightly more long lasting situation. But you can recover from it too.

Most people go through rough times and have to pull themselves up. It's just the way life is.

Rogue, I'm sorry for you. The way I see it is that it's their loss. Don't let it alter your enthusiasm or lower your self-esteem. Look at it from the positive side: You are only 23, you worked for .gov, and now you have the whole world ahead of you with that kind of experience. Most 23 year olds I know are losers, wqorking dull jobs to pay the rent and to sustain themselves, let alone work for .gov and make the kind of money you make.
And for you Kombinant, nobody wants to hear your whinnig cuz nobody here was born with a silver spoon in their mouth and to go down hard on Rogue like that, especially on the situation he's in now, is not only heartless, it's cruel.

doodz: just for you information: straight A's utill 12 grade... then i got buncha B's in bullshit like "History of Film" and "Philosophy" mainly because of the lack of interest in given subject.. but you have to remmember this A are from community col. so it's really nothing on you app.

for the original poster: dude, now after the day is done i admit i was an ass. whatever the circumstances it blows when anyone looses his job. my original intention was to give you some tough-love, but i guess it was a bit early for that, wasn't it. I didn't write about me to lessen your struggle or to get attention away from you. it was only an example to show you that your situation isn't that bad. There're many ppl who have it worse than you & me. I know what it's like to not have enough $ to live. I couldn't afford a beer for 1 1/2 years when i got to NY. To farther explain, it is general knowledge that government workers are overpaid. By our tax dollars. Some of the thing I said came from that direction. Imagined all the Enron executives bitching because they lost their jobs. Imagine J-LO bitching because they sold out $6500 Prada shoes. If you had a job you liked, you would bitch if you lost it also, but insttead you have to take the fact that you can't get a job that you like out on someone that enjoys there job and lost it. ****, I don't have a job either and I have lived here all my life. I'm 27 years old, have a bacelors degree and I am working on my masters degree. Maybe if we made our immagration laws more stringent, I would have a job now instead of people that ca't speak english doing the same job for 1/2 the money but only doing 1/4 of the work.

And no, I am not racist but I hate it when people bitch about the situation they put themself in. You CHOSE to come to the US. You CHOSE to work in the fashion industry. If you are not happy with those choices, then that is your own damn fault. Rogue did not chose to lose his job. Therefore he has every right to be upset about it.

And btw, its politions that are over paid you stupid ****ing piece of ****. Anyone in defense/secureiy (FBI, CIA, Police, Homeland Security, DOD, etc) are way underpaid. The average FBI agent can leave the agency, start a private business and make 3 to 4 times their annual salry. How the hell is that over paid????
