Not at the expense of a new member. Is that any way for a Senior Member to treat a newbie? Hmmm? No.

Now, is that a way for a BOFH too? :)
Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but an opinion should still be justified, not pulled out of left field.. I get attacked all the time for my opinions as Americans.. which I admit are mostly pulled out of left field..... but my reason for negging him was more for the uselessness of this post.... It's been posted a million times before, and there's no need for it to be reposted.. especially by someone who has absolutely no clue what they're talking about.
You saying you hate Americans? :(Quote:

Hate is a strong word.... I believe we went over this before.. and you agreed with me... I feel Americans have a very bad stereotype and for the most part a lot of them like to live that stereotype..
Speaking about incredible bias:Quote:

9. You haven't substantiated any claim yet.. but good try. If this is your attitude then I suggest you leave, because I for one don't want you around.. The entire idea of security requires you to have an open mind and apply new concepts.. yet you've already got an incredible bias.. I don't blame you.. it's the bias that most script kiddies have because they can't figure out how to run their kod.c in Windows... so Linux must be better.

The wise words come from Roguespy, please HTRegz before deciding who belongs here and who not, think twice.Quote:
This is just starting to turn into a flame. So don't let it.
I hope the AO search function will become more powerfull and widely used... on the otherside, a good oldfashioned flamewar with partial truths and complete bullshit can be amusing ... bleh. Step away from your boxes, be it windows, linux, unix, BSD, irix,... whatever; take a deep breath and say something you like.
Anyway HTrez your basic idea has some truth in it, if someone is going to hate and exclude certain options, then he or she isn't on the right path. Like for instance I have a good feeling when I get my uber server to recognize my raid controller and work properly in Linux with Raid-5, and be able to print, fileshare, ... but with Windows 2K it was only a question of putting in a server install disk (like Compaq smartstart) and choose win2k server... all OS's have their pro's and con's...
Mine isn't a bias...... I give every American I meet a chance...... I hate America.... but that's based on your government, your laws, and the news I see coming from your country..... I grew up on the Canada-US border.. I encountered Americans daily... the 19 and 20 year olds that couldn't drink in the US would come over, get completely tanked and drive around picking fights and causing problems.... I'd deal with them in business and in my personal life and the results for the most part weren't good. They'd come over, and think they were king **** and be completely rude while on foreign ground.... I don't liek the attitude most people develop groing up in America..... If whizkid's opinions had been formed on an experience even close to that.. I wouldn't question them.. but he has yet to give any valid evidence.. just a bunch of falsehoods...
My question to you would be why think twice??? Honestly if a person has no concept of how computers really work.. why would we want them around? This is supposed to be a place to learn, but this is also a serious computer security site. If he wants to form opinions like that there are plenty of Computer Newbie boards floating around the net.. I'd rather be a part of a community that has intelligent, educated members, than one who accepts anybody and has to deal with the riff raff. Which is why I still think there should be a test just to gain membership to AO...
lol, I think my governement isn't exactly bests friends with the US today... ;)Quote:
your laws, your governement
ok, now you have a point... one shouldn't post opinion crap like that...Quote:

Sorry.. I'm used to defending my opinion of Americans to Americans... :)Quote:

I was not getting mad I don't get mad. I was simply stating my opinion and a small basis of fact I really didn't put more then 3-5 minutes on that retort. As being able to control any and everything on your MS I will stick with my previous statement that MS is bad at that. But at the same time I might be a script Kiddie but I am one that is well read. Thanks For the Negs
-71. WOW to be honest I would personally say that you were getting offended. I thought that this sight was for learning but if your going to Neg me simply for my opinion that's not learning. But I understand I have looked around in the sight and I know more about how this
Sight works so I will research any topic before I post it. So in that aspect it is a learing experience. Live and Learn.
In an enane attempt to take away some of the people that are pissed off at me I will post a quick tip.
On Xp if you need to try to do anything with your Hard Drive with out buying a Partitioning Program. Go to help and Type Computer Management.
Next we have Your registry I am sure that most people know what it is but for any Brand New Newbies your registry is Basicly the (I don't know should I really say Program) Program that controls your computer know with this, like all things on your computer there is a good side and a bad side to this if you learn to edit and change your registry you can change just about anything that you want on your computer it is very powerful, But very easy to mess-up. Small note for any Newbies before you go around changing things in your registry go to google and learn something about your registry first and second back everything up trust me I have messed up my registry plenty of times my type-os or just messing up. Know if you want to find your registry go to Start->Run-> Then type regedit.
Last but not least for anyone that uses Visual Basic, there is a hidden Visual Basic Program in Microsoft Office (Know there is probably someone saying what is Microsoft Office it is a grouping of programs that you have to buy from Microsoft usually encluding Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and sorry I can't remember the name of the other I think it is Microsoft Outlook or something like that. But to find the Hidden program got into one of those Programs and press Alt-F11 and the hidden program will open. One of the main reasons I recommend that you don't open any emails from a person that you don't know that has one of the formentioned programs.
I personally think that those could be helpful for anyone. Any questions about those post them here and I will reply if I can.
Remember smile don't sweat the small stuff and it is all small.
