FYI:I just wanted to let you know that you put a double http:// in your link there, here is a corrected link
Yeah it might sound bad, but I think the telemarketing companies are probably making it sound worse than what it is. That's what anyone would do whenever their part of the market is being attacked, play some sad sob story to make people feel bad and let up on them a little.
But here's what I think, the goverment is only doing what the people want. I would say a BIG majority of people wanted something like this to get ride of the damn BS telemarketers calling at all hours. Sure they have rules and such, but I know some companies in that business don't follow or always say it was a simple "computer glitch" is the reason we called you at 6AM, or 10PM... after hours. So if a majority of the people want a stop to all of this, then the goverment has to follow.
And those companies aren't dead, it's not like they can't survive without doing that sort of telemarketing. They could convert over and take up some other form of marketing. Sure there will come a down for the telemarketing companies right now because of this, but as any good company does... they will bounce back. Then everyone will be happy.
Just a thought...
