yes, p2p networks are potentially damaging, you have to be careful of what your downloading, and who your downloading from. some simple advice i always abide by are..don't believe anything ppl on kazaa private message to you, if they don't like your download speed, download from someone else, chances are you can find someone else with the same file anyway, so screw them, next don't leave kazaa running all night, its a security hole and most college networks don't condone use of file sharing programs becuase of this, same reins true for your home network, turn kazaa off or upplug your cable modem or something, whatever you choose, next make sure you have a good anti-virus, this never hurt, and when your download stuff, make sure you scan it, this will catch most virus's. and a good firewall program is also a good thing, but only if you check the log files, otherwise it does you no good. i follow these all the time and i haven't had any problems using p2p programs, just make sure you cover yourself, and your good :D

well thanks guys for ur time for me, iam using kazaa lite with socks proxy and symantec AV, and at the backbone we have IDS, and i often check my box with netstat, hope its safe and all i download is mp3 and pdf e-books. can pdf document cantains virus
