Actually yes and no, AZL. That would be true if your ISP would setup something like static IP or your useing multiple dialups but for the majority of peaple who are to poor for these services that wouldn't really change anything.

I'm confused... surely most dial-up ISP's offer dynamic address allocation, so redialing would probably end up in you getting a different IP?
Anyway, I realise I'm following the drift of the thread. mohit, it would help us a lot more if you could give us some background. Perhaps let us know why you need this, in what environment.
To the guys negging him to death... at least give him the benefit of the doubt, yeh? Till he give more indication one way or the other, at least... ;)

At least that way he learns something, and we don't kill off yet another potentially useful member of the community (who's only crime so far is being a newbie).

Save the negging and banning for the ones actually causing trouble, is my vote...
search for a IP spoofer utility on google...there r quite a few IP spoofers out there already...u might even come accross a MAC address spoofer too...mise well spoof that too.
First off you need to have a good understanding of TCP/IP and how it works. I can recommend getting the book TCP/IP Illustrated (It's a 3 volume series but you can start with the first) by W. Stevens. Once you know about the famous threeway handshake and what sequence numbers are you can try looking at spoofing.Quote:
I'm not sure if you want to spoof an IP or just hide yours . If you don't know how to do the latter you sure don't need to worry about the first. If you are just trying to hide your IP goolge for Proxies as I think many others have suggested. IP spoofing is not particularly useful if you don't know exactly what you're trying to do.

Thanks for all your replies .Many of u want to know why i want to do it .My motive behind this is to change my ip address to a trusted ipor internetwork ip of my college so that i can get my ftp and telnet accounts working even from outside the college.As these facilites are only available within the college network.So plz help me in this subject.
And one thing more i am not using proxies as they cannot be used to obtain a specific ip
