Gay High School???

This whole thing to me is plain ridiculous. I for one am completely against same sex marriage, hell I'm against gays. (by that I mean that I do not agree with what they do, but it doesn't mean that I hate them to point that I'll go beat them up)

Here they are making a special school for gay kids because they're getting beat up to much, well hey I got news for them "its life get use to it."
Autistic kids are bullied a lot but I don't see anybody starting up a special school for them.

Yes well unfortunately the stupidity of this one individual is of concern to me. He is not the president of many countries but he acts like it [no need to start a discussion on the recent military actions I hope]. So the fact he is not my president actually is even worse... as I have no direct saying in his political future. Not that electing his opponent ensures his loss [another topic you may be familiar with].

To take further my point, it was you who chose to interpret my words per se, something I did not intend. Read between the lines please.

I'm the father of an autistic son. He's in HS now. He's been mainstreamed since 1st grade. He goes to the same school as everyone else. He's been with most of his classmates since the beginning. They know him, he knows them. Yes there was a bully or two. There was also a day when a kid picked on him and the 6 other kids from my son's cub scout den wailed on the bully. I haven't heard any stories about a similar situation with a gay kid.

With most developmental disabilities you want to mainstream, you want to include.

I've read a lot of stories about the isolation that gay kids feel. Friends they grew up with that shunned them as they came into their awareness. Then the physical harassment. The school might be a good idea. Of course, in a perfect world we would erase intolerance and hostility from our schools altogether.

hypronix your wish is granted. You may indeed go to hell by yourself. Oh and take that prime minister of yours with you.

I believe that it would be a good idea for these gay kids to stay in a regular school. Mainly because once they get out into the real world there will be people who will not include them, and who will bully them. This is how it is for some autistic kids also. It is unfortuane that we live in a society such as this but this is the way the world is. These kids will not be sheltered their whole life.

Anyway, yea, what really stuns me is that this really hasn't been met with any serious legislation being passed against this. I mean it's obvious that this is unconstitutional as well as complete idiocy, which I've already explained. My hypothesis is that no one is really taking serious action because they are afraid of being 'labeled' a homophobe. Can you taste the irony in that???

I won't deny I meant to insult him. And again, I won't stress his policies [not the domestic ones, really, but his choices in international politics] are of concern to me and everybody in any way linked to the US. Nobody can convince me otherwise. If you cannot see that... I stand amazed.

Umm perhaps they haven't taken a stand because it is a privet school as such they can include or exclude an one they want (this is why agusta national golf club dosn't have to include women.).

As for gay marrage, is marrage a civile contract or a religious one. If its civil why can't sme sex marragies happen, it is just a contract between two adults. If it is a religious event, why do I have to pay the goverment for a marriage license, and why are married cuples treated difrently under tax and workers rights laws? Face it marrage is a secular instatution in this country as such not allowing two adults to get married (regardelss of sexual oriantation) is discrimination...you don't like that, get your senetor to push for the removal of all marrige law and give up all the privligaes a married person gets under the law .

The title says public, and mentions nothing about it private at all. Like I said this is a big problem. I am not a 100% certain that this is indeed a public school though, I was not able to find that information, but judging from the article it looks it. Anyone that was able to find this info. please share it, I think that I a really important piece of info. we need that was brought up.

I was mistaken, it looks like this is a public scholl...if that is the case, this is illigal, pure and simple discrimination and should not be allowed to happen. No public organization should be allowed to discriminate on any criteria.

Now for my personal feelings on this school. regardless of public or privet I think its a bad idea, we don't segragate the real world why should we segragate high school, this is discrimination pure and simple and it disgustes me. every one gets picked on in high school, being gay has nothing t odo with it, your in school you will get picked on until you stand up for youre self. This is also true in real life, stand up for your rights or you will get walked all over.
