Not when you know how to configure your browser and other good software....:)
[edit]
Spelling...:)
Remember, not everyone is 1337 and knows how to add host file entries and such. Also, I don't want to add other software just to read mail. Ofcourse you can use pine and aviod all of this! ;)
:p
I know, I know, we all can't be 1337.. :(
No.. thats why you use Outlook Express or whatever...;)Quote:

Actually you are not adding Outlook Express to a windows machine it comes with Windows whether you like it or not. As for Outlook it does a good job but I like Outlook Express because it didn't crash all the time like Outlook did. Always leaving instances of it running in the Process window in Task Manager and not allowing the messenger to close. Outlook Express fixed that. I don't have a favorite but I like using Evolution instead of Outlook and KMail instead of OE. I use these on my laptop that has linux on it. I use Windows for my main machine because it is what I play games on and Linux doesn't work well with my setup on this computer. To recap Outlook Express works fine and I don't want to go to yahoo or open my browser for that matter when I can open up an email client for my email.
Preach on brother! :)Quote:

Actually, I do have pine setup on my *nix machines so I can send/receive e-mail while on the console.
I use pine on my school account when I'm sending mail that I don't want others to read (at work). I'm fully aware that they can and will read my email at any given time. They must be bored... ?Quote:

Just ssh to my college account and I don't have to worrry about bosses snooping.
I like that better than the web based crap anyway. I can be sure that I won't be getting any web based viagra ads...
And what's wrong with viagra..!!!! I demand an answer...;)
"like outlook did"?.. The main bug with Outlook is it's it's insistance to open winword. Crash? runs 10-11hrs a day at work.. mb 1 locak a week IF I want to blame Outlook fro the problem..Quote:

Don't think I am saying that Outlook and OLEXP are great apps.. far from it.. each has its strengths and weaknesses.. we endup using what works best for the job..that is best comprimise..right
As for OLEXP not being upgraded/progressed on.. Oh well.. "So long and thanks for the fish" ..
I only recommend OLEXP for ppl with hotmail accounts who don't want to read their emails online..
cheers
Oh BTW: what is wrong with VIAGra?.. that was an excellent mobo chipset for the socket 7 processors!..
Outlook Rocks.... he he
With it's integration into Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and Power Point you can't go wrong (if you use those products) Not to mention the sharing of coworkers calendars, notes, tasks, journals and document tracking in which the software automatically picks free spots in everyone's schedule then sends out and tracks invitations and documents related documents to then update calendars. I could be across town and be reminded of an important meeting on my palm that I forgot or send me a notice that a task I set is overdue. Sheet, I would be lost without it. Sure this goes beyond email but it's nice to integrate it all, except when Exchange crashes  . I do wish they would fix the multiple instance thing though.
Outlook Express sucks but it’s simple mail tool. Outlook shouldn’t be classified as an email client only. It’s so fcking powerful you could get a hard on.
