Just to chime in real quick: Thats a little bit off actually...Quote:

CTFMON is not needed by anything but a few MSN products, and eats up more resourses then most other background processes.
It is always the first thing I make sure it either turned off in my msconfig and if not or if it gets turned back on (things like using hotmail will turn it on) then its always the first thing I make sure to 'endtask' via ctrl-alt-del...

so something like rundll32 doesn't need to be running?
The best way to find out if your OS needs a certain process to be running, is to close it and see if your OS crashes. lol
But for Win 98, Rundll32 does not need to be runing.
Only Systray, and explorer as bpiedlow stated.
I think I confused syslog for systray! Thanks for correcting me there!
I always though you need ctfmon running for some reason....Thanks for correcting me there to!!!
