Ms Mittens,
The new version of swaret has all the excludes and importants in the conf file, unlike the previous version < 1.3.0 which had seperate files. This makes life a little easier.
I turn every thing on (1) and dont have a problem .... I did upgrade lilo through swaret and did not have a problem, but I have read where others did so I have now excluded it. I dont update the kernel via swaret, I would rather do that manually.
I have attached a copy of my swaret.conf file for you to look at ... I found some nice fast mirrors which are at the top of the list ... they are updated much quicker than some of the others.
Hope it helps...
Sorry, I should have added that I am running in the slackware-current tree as you can see by the conf file ... so far I haven't had a problem living on the bleeding edge with Slackware :) my system is reporting as Slackware 9.1 (RC2) with the 2.4.22 kernel.

The only thing i'm pissed about with swaret, is that it doesn't download security patches.
Well...unless I edit my mirrors to a patch-only download site...
*ponders*... anyone have any (specifically for Slack, mind you)?

I found a new one for slackware called Slapt-get, it acts like apt-get from Debian, and can install, upgrade, and so on. I'm attaching the source/tarball thing so you can install it if you want.
