Ok, I've been having people PM me like crazy asking about my signature. My PM box can only hold so many lol so I'm posting a thread about it right here.
I got my sig from http://www.danasoft.com
I believe that when the you comp loads the picture, it goes to the danasoft server which makes a connection with you. When that happens it continues to load the picuter putting your IP, Browser and OS in there.
I believe this to be incorrect. In fact is entirely unnecessary. There are many standardized variables that are available to any web server or cgi that can be queried that are handled by things like User-Agent variables. Among these are the ability to query the IP of the person requesting the page, the browser they are using, and if on a unix system even the user that is running the browser. In fact, it is entirely possible to do this all client side with javascript to where there are no connections required, your browser fills in the information on its own.

Val made one for me as a joke that said "don't piss me off when I know so much about you!"
I thought it was pretty dang funny, but I can only imagine how paranoid people would get if they saw that.
