Close to being banned list

I've been in complete favor of it since I started this thread months ago. The issue has come up 3 or 4 times and people seem to be split on it. Many believe it's not that big of a deal and I agree (although I disagree that it's insignificant and shouldn't even be paid attention to)....and others believe it would be nice to keep it somewhat current which I also agree with.... I personally think it's a good idea all around to make it more current for reasons already listed.

Probably case in point right there. A year is a little much....6 months could be slightly too much but it's probably safer that way just in case somebody actually does decide to come back (in which case they would probly be negged into oblivion anyway after their first post....which goes back to how it would be better off to just start over).

ibeg to differ ,i don't think its a good idea, IMHO ok they might have have made some mistakes or might have been the victim AP abuse or what ever reason is they should be given a chance, and what about people who don't post altogether there are many people that have not posted in a decade like "wolverine" . i myself was once on that list , i didn't change my screen name i like my screen name and do not wwant to change it, what about people like me?

The people on the list now would have been banned long ago had they posted even one more retarded post....as it stands they've pretty much lost their screen names anyway. The list could go the other way. If a person screws up their first post then there will be a couple of people out to get them that are already aware of your closeness to being banned. If the list were current, then other members who may not be prejudiced against you yet may see you on the list and check out what you've posted lately and then see that you've gotten better and help you out. There are some really nice people on this site that wouldn't hesitate to help you out if you were under attack from a couple of other members. The list would provide people with a choice of whether to help you, hurt you, or ignore you as opposed to only the people who have been negging you having an awareness of your turmoil.

sorry i completely misunderstood the whole story, i thought it was about removing the account. yep i completely agree the list should be kept current about six months would be file i think, this will help the people know who is the current Pain in the Ass. but i do not agree with negging people in the Close to be banned list just to balance out your antipoint assignments. they should be given a chance

I wouldn't have a problem with keeping it more up to date...it seems that the majority here agree. I'll look into it and see what we can do.

I made this change. Close to being banned list now shows only users who've been active within the last 6 months.

1. don't whine about getting negs. Everyone gets negs at one point or another. The question of "fair" is purely subjective.

It's a bit of a stupid question given that you had made a post previously. So seriously, it could have been worse had I not closed that thread.

You're not the first to get negs for asking the obvious, you won't be the last. The question is can you learn from it and grow from it. Whining is nothing more than whining. Taking it in stride and going on from it betters you. I've seen users at 3 red dots (-250 I believe) who have come back from that and now enjoy many many little green dots. It's just a question of what you do from this point forward.
