I was just reading about IPv6 the other day and I remember the article saying there are only about 4 billion IP addy's out there reserved for internet use. Hence the importance of ICS or a router, (I have a netgear fr114p).
The article goes on to say that with IPv6 there will be about 3x10^38 IP addresses for internet use or 6.5x10^23 per square meter of the Earth's surface.
I eagerly await the demise of IPv4 so that I can have approx. 4,550,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 IP (700sqM) internet addresses reserved for my use in my home :D
I have read something about a dual stack "proposition" for a transitional phase, where 0's are used to pad out ip4 IP's and the ip6 packets get wrapped with ip4 headers, the 0's get removed by a IP6 device to reveal the real the ip4 address and ip4 headers get removed to reveal ip6 packets.
This sounds like a lot of too-ing and fro-ing to me
I say, just get rid of IPv4, and get on with life :p

There will probably be 50 million new exploits when they do it :D (or not, who knows just how much they can **** it up  )
