I didnt bother to secure my system that good. I hoped the security measures I put up was good enough to keep the little kids out, heh . I used to secure my system up really tight but it really became a pain in the ass more then it was worth. I dont have anything that isnt backed up already that is of to much importants either.
I leave my comp on at night since I run a ftp and so I figured why not get my moneys worth on bandwidth. Im not sure but I think a sql service that I had running was how they got in. I have logs of someone trying to exploit a buffer overflow vulnerability, but it coulda been just a worm probing for systems to infect.
Im gona go with slackware. Ive been reading up on it and I think I'll get it down ok. Hopefully i'll stick with it this time. I should be ok, im just starting to get back into computers again after my brakedown at college lol. I have my A+ cert, and a few others so I know what im doin a little bit ;-p. not really hehe.
