I am still waiting for someone to give a good reason why Mac's suck?
Everything is locked down so you can't hack them?? how does that suck? because you actualy go to a school that has an admin that has a clue of what he is doing makes it bad? Or is it just that you can't figure out how to bypass the security? I use my Mac about 99% of the time. I don't have to worry about any of the exe viruses or anything like that. And its a lot more secure by defalut then an XP laptop when I am on the road and not behind a router and firewall.
So please, give me 1 good reason why Mac's suck other then you can't afford one or that you don't know what the hell you are doing with it.
Eskimo> I haven't used a floppy drive in about 7 years except when I had to remove all the computers from a network because it got hit by the sircam virus and needed to clean every machine on the network 1 at a time (except my powerbook that wasn't affected). For anything else, a USB powered zip drive worked wonders, and my 32Meg smart drive (little USB drive on a string for $30) are all I use now and they are FAT formatted, so I can use them on Windows or Mac. As for the bouncing icon... you can turn it off.
considering they are more expensive then wintel machines, that just throws your theory right in the trash.Quote:
Tho i can see why some people would like them, i mean, thay are parthetic, thay suck, lol i guess that is why schools buy them.
And what is so good about them for educational institutions? They are easy to administer, they are easy to update, they have an excellent interface for setting up differnt users, entire profiles can easily be stored on a server, they are easy to teach and learn on, they don't have the same vulnerabilites so they have less intrusions, they have a better uptime, and they keep scriptkiddies out of the systems so they don't have to fix things on a daily basis.
