I have to say, I am touched. Specially with the recent hate gore trend I'v seen going on lately. I have not voted yet. Mainly because I'm friends with everyone I think should have a crown. I'v known negative since I started coming here.
I'v known Souleman a LONG time too, and he even lives around here. I also think Prodikal and KorpDeth and The Jinx and Phishreek80 should have been up there. They have a HUGE amount of knowledge. More than me with computer security anyway.
On the other hand, I'm surely not going to say "I can't except this" or somethign else, because well, after all the people hating me here, this is helping me feel good about me and my presence here again.
I feel I have contributed alot too this site. Be it humor or help. I started writing the bastard posts, which started out as nothing more than being bored and loving the BOFH series. Figured I'd make a few then kill the character off somehow.
Well, people loved it so I kept going. When someone tells you that you did something that made the day they had alot better, it's touching, and feels great. So I kept going. Then member started writing their own stories based on my stories.
Making someone feel creative, and wanting to make something, is a feeling....I can't really explain how it feels to have created something that made others want to create. It's amazing. I didn't know there was a thread where people would list who they wanted to have on the poll for AO king, I also didn't know about this thread either as I said before.
But coming here and seeing my name with the most votes....Thank you.
I'll let you all in on something. When everyone here started jumping my ass; And I don't mean with flames or joking around like I do, but people were seriously sending me hate messages and negs, I was planning on just finishing up my Bastard sys admin from Michigan #12, and killing gore off at the end.
After posting it, I was going to make a thread in addicts with my account name and password, and ask for my account to be closed. It's one thing when someone is joking with me, but alot of people here straight up hate me.
Same amount have no respect for me as a human being, and think of me as ****. That hurts. I don't care if it's "Only the internet". As friends of mine have said before, there is somenoe on the other end that has to type that out.
I don't like being hated, to me when you are hated, you have failed. I don't like failing. When I became a top ten AP earner, I was appreciative as hell. Because you can't get on there kissing ass. Being on there shows that you are loved/respected.
The APs, like Souleman has said before, may not be ****, but to get enough to be on the list, you have to actually be doing something more than kissing ass and writing bullshit posts. That's why Souleman doesn't want to be there anymore. He's seen how people will make these bullshit threads and get great responces.
How many of you have seen a post that isn't relevent to anything on the front page go extremly positive? I know I have. Yes, I do also know I'v made stupid posts too. But for example my bastard posts, do I think I deserve anything for those?
Well, yes and no; Yes because I put my time into making something and giving it away to read freely, using true life experiances, security, my opinion, and some made up **** I add in. that is how I make those.
But on the other hand, can you learn from them? Well, yes, you learn not to **** me with or your admin, you can learn how to secure yourself from blackmale, and how to have fun at the same time.
Anyone remember me making up a programming language? Gore++, remember? I pulled that **** out of my ass and posted it. And look how entertaining it was. Love me or hate me, I dont care, at least admit I entertain you, and do know a thing or two about security.
Thats why I came here, I'm actually into security, I have yet to have a box rooted, because I know how to set up a secure box. Now, granted NOTHING is fool proof, In think I do know how to secure things pretty well though.
And then OSs, who here has more knowledge of a given number of OSs than me? I know alot of systems, the install, setting up, everything. I'm not a guru or something like that, but I do know alot.
Knowing alot doesn't seem to mean **** though, I rarely have the oppertunity to show it. Whenever I make a post I have a gang of elitist nazis jump on me for everything from a spelling error to ""Well my brothers second cousin's sister worked on that and I think your wrong".
I never thought I'd be on this poll. I figured I would be the last one to be here. Only thing I have going for me here, is the fact that I know more than 50 of you have PM me and asked me for help, which you recieved.
There was no post letting me show how I helped many of you install OSs and set them up, but you all know who you are. I'v helped set **** up for at least 50 of you. I dont care that no one else knows I helped you, but when people start **** with me saying I never contribute anything, I'd love to pop out about 200 or so of the PMs Iv answered and helped people install Linux, set it up, secure it, get things working, fixed Windows probs, gave my opinions on distros that made people happy, and helped with alot.
Iv helped alot of people out in PMs and on MSN that come here. So yes, I think I do contribute alot. Theres also a nice load of people here that don't like me because of my opinion on politics, drug laws, in particular Opium, and also my sence fo humor.
Sorry I can't please everyone, but if some of them pulled their heads out of their asses long enough to talk with me, I'm sure we could find something we agreed on. **** this post is long. Anyway, Thank you for voting for me, I appreciate it. I know I'm not the actual King here, I do think that I was prolly one of the fastest newbies here to accomplish some respect from seniors. I remember when I joined I had seniors PM me saying they loved my posts.
I rarely posted. I didn't see a reason to post bullshit when I first came here. When I made a post I wanted it to actually count for more than the classic AOL kiddies with the "Mee too!" bullshit.
I spent my first day here reading the FAQs, then going through and readin a **** LOAD of posts too see how people were around here. Alot of seniors PM me though and would say they really thought I was nice, I was a newbie but I didn't spam the boards. And I guess actually reading the FAQs helped.
Anyway, I think the true Kings and queens of AO are already chosen, they became mods. But it's nice to win the peoples vote, so thanks. Guess I wont leave and not return as I had planned.
