ok I still have not been able to remove the trojan...I did a system restore from when I first went through symantecs removal proccess and I was going to go over the steps for removal "again" but when I did I no longer have a
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP
file in my registry (the MSTCP) is what is missing!!!
so i would like to try your way scatman...where can I find the file ~/system/ directory called 'hosts'
FYI: I am running XP

If you get the hostadmin tool I suggested earlier it will do it for you.

The file is at C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts or C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
