I guess some people really do love AOL 9.0 :( well, what an idiot, if you are going to break into a bank please read this short tutorial:

1. Have a plan.
2. Do it for something worth going to jail for the rest of your life (AOL 9.0 defiently isnt worth that)
3. Don't steal a computer, go for the cash
4. After you have sucessfully escaped, do not sign on to an internet chat room on AOL and brag to everyone how you managed to pull off a lame stunt that will cost you your life.

Anyways, i have never robbed a bank nor do i plan on robbing a bank, but i presume that if anyone with half a brain actually wanted to rob something from a bank, a computer would be a very bad choice considering everything else thats in a bank :) just my 2$

What probably happened is the owner of the computer got interrogated and someone remembered that they had a saved account on said computer. Now one of the neat things that AOL, MSN, earthlink, juno..... all do is that they keep logs like any good security practice would do.... the only catch is their logs track the incoming phone number as well as usage. So they can do statistical analysis' on market areas and adjust their marketing plan based on usage and all the above. Not only does this provide great business tools but it also doubles as a security precaution.

So what I would presume is that AOL put a flag on these account recorded the phone number contacted the local authorities and proceeded to arrest the individual. They can also track all this crap by MAC address a bit more complicated but nonetheless effective. Hope this helps a bit

Yes the computer was physically stolen from the Bank..
The dude then thinking he was so 3li73 logged onto AOL..
that is how this idi0t g0t caught...

me woke up before and had an almighty chuckle about this..
well me hopes this dude enjoys the 5 star hotel that the Government is paying for....?
And i wonder if he's knew room mate has shown him the ROpes...??
