Not to be counter productive but Microsoft and Security in the same sentence. Isn't that an oxymoron? Lol. I was reading somewhere that the Department of Homland security has offered to help Microsoft Secure their operating system. Doesn't Microsoft have enough money to hire the talent to secure their operating system? So basically what the government is telling me is if I create a product that everyone uses then I can have $hitty coding practices and not fear any consequences because the government will bail me out.

I don't think that the US Government has the resources to make Windows secure... lol. (Windows...Secure... Damn those oxymorons...)
Enough Billy Bashing for now. As we all know, but sometimes hate to admit when it comes to MS, the security of a box is dependent on the skill and patience of the administrator. I can make a Windows box quite secure. If you know that a vulnerability exists and do not do anything about it, it is your responsibility even if the vulnerability is unpatched, close a port, stop a service, whatever..
It's not the software that is the security issue. It's the company that creates (steals?) it. If Microsoft put more effort into bug fixes and general patches, Windows wouldn't be bad. It wouldn't be as bad at least.
I'm a little out of it right now, so this post might not be too clear...
